Eagle Continues Tradition of Giving

Professional Staffing Company Donates $50,000 to United Way

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 22, 2010) - Eagle Professional Resources (Eagle) has made its corporate donation of $50,000 to the United Way, an annual tradition started four (4) years ago. In addition to Eagle's annual donation, local offices hosted a number of fundraising activities throughout the year, 87% of staff participated in a payroll deduction program where funds were matched by Eagle, and, as per tradition, Eagle chose to donate another $15,000 to charity in lieu of cards and gifts during the holiday season.

In addition to its financial commitment, Eagle encourages volunteerism. In 2010, Eagle implemented a Charity Day, giving every staff member a paid day to volunteer in the community.

Since selecting the United Way as its Charity of Choice four years ago, Eagle has contributed close to $500,000 to the national organization. The donated funds benefit families and communities across Canada. Since late 2006, the United Way has played an important role in Eagle's culture, becoming a top-of-mind charity for many of Eagle's staff. Eagle's CEO, Kevin Dee, is a great role model. He sits on the United Way's Major Gifts Committee and Ottawa's Leadership Table to End Chronic Homelessness, plus many of Eagle's employees follow suit, volunteering for charities within their own communities.

"Not only do we donate at the corporate level but our employees are engaged in many fundraising and volunteer initiatives throughout the year," notes Kevin Dee, CEO of Eagle. "From holding inter-office competitions to employing a United Way supported catering business that provides on-the-job training and employment opportunities to individuals with severe mental illness, everybody's doing their part – and it all adds up!"

Helping communities and supporting charitable organizations has always played a big part in Eagle's culture. Over the years, Eagle has also made significant contributions to the Children's Aid Foundation, the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa/Carleton, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the Canadian Red Cross, the Reena Foundation, MASC, and numerous other charities. Eagle also received the ACSESS Community Service Award in both 2002 and 2008, an award that recognizes members of the staffing industry for supporting charities, educational and community groups.
