Eagle Professional Resources: MASC Young Authors' and Illustrators' Conference Inspires Children's Creativity

Authors and Illustrators Travel from Across Canada to Educate Children from Across the Region

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - April 24, 2007) - Eagle Professional Resources (Eagle) is proud to once again sponsor TheYoung Authors' and Illustrators' Conference organized by MASC. This popular event, held at Confederation High School on April 25, 26, and 27, 2007, gives children the opportunity to connect with their creativity and learn by working with some of Canada's best children's authors and illustrators.

The conference, now in its sixteenth year, has gained a national reputation as one of the finest of its kind in the country. Six hundred and seventy five (675) students in grades 4 to 8 from as far as Belleville, ON to Wakefield, QC, attend workshops with eight (8) authors and illustrators. During the two hour workshops, attended by 25 to 28 students at one time, authors and illustrators will not only showcase their own work but also guide students in exploring and discovering their own creativity and assist them with developing their skills. This year's line-up of writers and illustrators include: Sheenaz Nanji, Tom Schwarzkopf, Peggy Dymond-Leavy, Christine Tripp, Brian Doyle, Valerie Sherrard, Karen Patkau and Peter Cumming.

The response from the students is quite phenomenal and many will recount this amazing and memorable experience right into their adult years. One young conference participant from a last year declared, "This is my 3rd and final year in this workshop. You have no idea how much I have been inspired ..."

"MASC's dynamic connections between artists, learning and young people are truly strengthened through Eagle's collaboration in the Young Authors and Illustrators Conference," said Audrey Churgin, Executive Director for MASC. "Eagle's support for students helps MASC give a real-life experience in the arts, establishing an important leadership role for the corporate community for the children MASC serves."

"Eagle is proud to be associated with a group of young people that have a passion for the arts!" said Kevin Dee, Eagle's CEO. "It is young passionate people who will become the future leaders of our society, I think every company should encourage these types of events."
