Eagle Star Minerals Corp. Adds New Director and Advisory Board Member

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - July 12, 2011) - Eagle Star Minerals Corp., (TSX VENTURE:EGE)(PINK SHEETS:ELGSF)(FRANKFURT:E6R) ("Eagle Star" or "the Company") is pleased to announce the addition of Jill Leversage as its new Director and Head of Audit Committee, and the addition of Mohan Vulimiri to the Company's Advisory Board. Ms. Leversage was appointed at the Company's Annual General Meeting, which was held on Friday, July 8, 2011, at the Company's head office. All other matters that were put forth at the AGM also received shareholder approval.

Jill Leversage

Ms. Leversage is a recognized securities industry expert with 25 years of experience in corporate finance and investment banking, along with contributions to businesses and nonprofit organizations through advisory roles, board memberships and public speaking engagements. Most recently, Jill served as Manager and Team Leader of the Vancouver market for TD Securities Inc., gaining a reputation for her strong ability to recruit, hire, train and export major contributors. During her tenure with TD Securities, Jill served in Lead Advisor positions for numerous transactions, including initial public offerings (IPOs), mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and debt and equity financings. Her client list included the City of Vancouver, TransLink (the Metro Vancouver Transit Authority), West Fraser Timber and Versacold. Her experience also included companies across the mining, forestry and technology sectors.

Prior to her time with TD Securities, Ms. Leversage was a Vice President and Director of RBC Capital Markets, and held the position of Managing Director of the Vancouver market. During her time with RBC Capital Markets, Ms. Leversage focused on forestry and technology industries, leading with debt and equity financing, IPO and M&A advisory services, as well as seeking opportunities to build RBC's Alternative Energy Sector. Also during her time with RBC Capital Markets, Ms. Leversage served on the company's Valuation Committee. Her time with RBC Capital Markets was preceded by a tenure with BMO Financial Group in Vancouver, BC where she ascended from a Financial Analyst position to a Vice President from 1990 to 1993.

Jill is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC and a Chartered Business Valuator through the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Management Information Systems from the University of Calgary. She currently sits on multiple Boards, including as a Chair of Finance & Audit Committees for British Columbia Innovation Council, Executive on the Finance & Audit Committees for Vancouver General Hospital and UBC Hospital Foundation and the BC Progress Board.

Mohan Vulimiri

Mr. Vulimiri brings 35 years of experience in exploration and delineation of ore deposits to the Eagle Star Advisory Board. Past and present, Mr. Vulimiri has been in involved in the management of numerous junior and established companies. He was Founder and Chairman of both Frontier Pacific Mining Corporation (now amalgamated with Eldorado Gold) and San Fernando Mining Co. (credited with discovering the La Fortuna Gold deposit in Mexico). He is the Founder and current Executive Chairman and CEO of Nortec Minerals Corp., with gold, nickel, lithium, silver, rare earth and other mineral properties in Finland, Canada and Ecuador.

He is a graduate of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Kharagpur) with Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Applied Geology. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Economic Geology from the University of Washington.
