Eagle Star Petroleum Corp. Engages Dr. Martin L. Keeley as Chief Operating Officer

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - March 13, 2008) - Eagle Star Petroleum Corp. (CNQ:EAGL) (TSX VENTURE:EGE)(FRANKFURT:E6R) ("Eaglestar" or "the Company") is pleased to announce Dr. Martin L. Keeley as Chief Operating Officer. Dr. Keeley brings 27 years of experience in international oil and gas exploration and development with focused expertise on fund raising, project management and opportunity generation. Dr. Keeley received his PhD in Geology from Trinity College Dublin, The University of Dublin in 1980, followed by receiving Executive Management Diplomas in Effective Management and Finance and Accounting.

Dr. Keeley began his oil and gas career as a geophysicist for Shell International Petroleum where his main focus was on seismic acquisition/processing/interpretation on/offshore mainly in Libya and Brazil. In 1982 he joined Charterhouse Petroleum PLC as Senior Geologist where he headed G & G operations, basin studies, evaluations, license applications and farm-in/out: onshore UK, UKCS, Egypt.

Throughout his tenure in the oil and gas industry, Dr. Keeley is linked to major finds worldwide. In NW Europe he participated in the offshore UK Chestnut discovery and the Palmers Wood onshore. His expertise next led to a Jurassic play in NW Egypt yielding over 500MMBO of reserves to date. By 1998, while serving as a director for Emerald Energy Plc, Dr. Keeley successfully delivered a major package of assets in Colombia including the giant Chawina and Gigante prospects in the Magdelana Valley. The Gigante alone proved to be an important discovery, testing at 4,500bopd with an estimated full potential of 1BBO.

In 1993, Dr. Keeley became director of Fieldco International Ltd. where he acted as consultant for multiple companies including Ecopetrol, Triton, and Monument Oil & Gas. He has since worked for various public and private companies including Emerald Energy PLC (London LSE:EEN), Schlumberger Ltd. (NYSE:SLB), and Gold Oil (LSE:GOO) with titles including COO, business and strategic consultant, CEO, Exploration Director. His expertise has also been sought after in print, having published 20 technical articles on stratigraphy, basin dynamics and tectonics and petroleum geology and systems in NE Africa, Ireland and South America. For seven years, he served as an active member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Petroleum Geology.

Granting of Options

The Company has granted a total of 1,100,000 incentive stock options to directors, officers and consultants at an exercise price of $0.19 per share exercisable for a period of 5 years.
