Eagle Star Receives Environmental License and Commences Diamond Core Drilling on the Serra do O Block, Brazil

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 14, 2010) - Eagle Star Minerals Corp., (TSX VENTURE:EGE)(FRANKFURT:E6R) ("EagleStar" or "the Company"). Further to its news release dated September 1, 2010 Eagle Star is pleased to announce the receipt of an environmental license and commencement of a diamond core drill program on the Serra do Ó Block, at its Angico Iron project in the State of Piaui, North East Brazil. The Angico iron ore project covers more than 40,000 hectares (100,000 acres) of mineral claims in 5 areas.

Diamond drilling at the Serra do' O' concession has commenced and its main objective is to test both the magnetometer anomalies and the banded iron formation (BIF) outcrops. 3-D modeling of the anomalies generated six (6) very distinct major magnetic bodies with coincident BIF outcrops over an area of 6 square kilometers. Based on these modeling results six locations were recommended for drilling angle holes. Analysis of representative grab samples collected from these BIF outcrops returned values from 17% to 69% Fe2O3. The BIF mineralization is typically comprised of alternating laminae of magnetite, hematite, martite, specularite, chert and jasper. Drill results will be published upon receipt.

"It is our firm belief that these drill holes will not only confirm the large set of geophysical and magnetometer data we have collected to date, but will just as importantly provide the evidence for continuity, overall thickness and grade of iron mineralization at the Serra do O' Block. Therefore this drill program should provide a first glimpse as to the immense potential of Eagle Star's concession holdings in North East Brazil" commented Eran Friedlander, President and CEO of Eagle Star Minerals.
