Eaglecrest Explorations Ltd.: Independent on Site Fire Assay Laboratory Commenced Operations

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 17, 2005) - Eaglecrest Explorations Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:EEL)(FWB:EAT.FSE) is pleased to report the on-site Fire Assay laboratory commenced operations on August 3, 2005, which will reduce the time required to secure assay results from several months to a few days. ANALAB S.R.L. of Peru operates the laboratory independently under the overall supervision of Mineral Processing Engineer Gary Hawthorn, P.Eng. (B.C.), who is the Qualified Person for the laboratory.

The laboratory is located in a secured fenced area adjacent to the Company's camp 10 kilometres (km) from the Dona Amelia zone that covers an area of 40 square km within the Company's 298.84 square km San Simon project in northeast Bolivia.

During the first 10 days of regular operation of the laboratory in early August, ANALAB S.R.L. has been processing standard Fire Assays on 20 to 40 samples per day. Since drilling commenced in May the company has accumulated more than 800 diamond drill core, surface, trench, underground development and bulk muck samples which will be analyzed over the next couple of weeks during completion of training of locally hired sample preparation crew. Priority will be given to the decline shaft pilot holes and the underground development samples during this phase.

It is anticipated that the laboratory will reach the planned full capacity of up to 100 samples per day. Quality control is done using several QA standards and blanks that are being prepared from the Dona Amelia zone. Additional standards will be prepared over the coming months and pulps will be shipped to several commercial laboratories for round robin analyses prior to use as QA samples.

The laboratory will operate 7 days per week to process:

1 samples from the gold recovery plant

2 underground exploration samples

3 diamond drill core samples

4 miscellaneous surface samples

A refinery furnace will be installed in the secure laboratory area to convert table concentrate from the gold recovery plant into gold bullion. The refinery furnace will be operated by ANALAB S.R.L. and is scheduled to be fully operational prior to full operation of the gold recovery plant.

The diamond drilling, underground exploration development and bulk sampling program is being supervised by Tor Bruland, P. Geo. and Don Allen, P. Eng., both of whom are Qualified Persons under the Canadian National Instrument 43-101 Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects.

On behalf of the Board of Directors,

Carl A. Erickson, President, Eaglecrest Exploration Ltd.
