Eames House Project Wins Gold at 2014 Atlanta American Advertising Awards

Nebo's Pro Bono Work Recognized for Two Local Awards & Will Move Forward to Compete at District Level

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - Mar 5, 2014) - Nebo, an Atlanta-based digital marketing agency, has won Gold and Silver awards at the 2014 Atlanta American Advertising Awards Competition. The Atlanta Ad Club has recognized Nebo for creating the pro bono advocacy microsite, EamesHouse250.org, which placed in the following categories:

  • Digital Advertising - Websites, Consumer - Gold
  • Digital Advertising - Campaign - Silver

EamesHouse250.org was built to raise awareness and funds to preserve the former home of iconic designers Charles and Ray Eames. This house contains the artists' work and serves as a symbol of their signature style. When Nebo learned that the building was in need of extensive maintenance, the team stepped in to help, designing and selling original prints inspired by the Eames' minimalist aesthetic. These prints were sold on the site, which also features an interactive timeline highlighting the duo's accomplishments across furniture, filmmaking, art and architecture.

Nebo's efforts invited Eames fans to own a part of their legacy and helped secure $250,000 in donations in just two months. The project received an astounding amount of support from design aficionados, national publications and major brands. The microsite continues to be recognized for various accolades as well. With this recognition for Gold at the local tier of the American Advertising Awards competition, the Eames project will move on to compete at the district level.

"Charles and Ray Eames have an incredible legacy and they continue to influence modern design," said Pete Lawton, Creative Director at Nebo. "Helping preserve that is important to us, and we're proud to have helped them with this effort. It's an honor to be a part of this project and to be recognized by the American Advertising Awards for our efforts."

The American Advertising Awards, formerly the ADDYs, is the advertising industry's largest competition, attracting more than 40,000 entries annually in local AAF Club (Ad Club) competitions. The mission of the American Advertising Awards competition is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising. A panel of judges scores every entry in each category by evaluating all creative dimensions of the submissions. The number of awards given is determined by the judges, based on the relative quality of work in that category.
