VERNON, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 22, 2012) - Plan an early start to skiing in BC as Silver Star Mountain Resort has set an opening day of Thursday, November 22. A full seven days ahead of schedule, the Comet Express six-pack will open to groomed trails. Each year, Silver Star is one of the first to open without the aid of snowmaking, the popular ski resort boasts of a vertical drop of 760 m (2500 ft.) and an annual snowfall of more than 700 centimetres of Okanagan Champagne Powder.
"We're very lucky to have outstanding natural snow conditions here at Silver Star that allow for an earlier opening than many other resorts," says Silver Star general manager, Michael Sherwood.
In honour of its 10 millionth skier visit, Silver Star Mountain Resort has introduced Canada's first all-inclusive season pass and day ticket. Skiing in BC is more attractive now as with the My1Pass, alpine day ticket and season pass holders will have free unlimited access to Silver Star's 55 kilometres of Nordic trails, 16 km of mapped and marked snowshoe trails, Tube Town Adventure Park, and outdoor skating on Brewer's Pond.
To celebrate the early opening, Silver Star is offering 35% off early bookings extending to February 8th 2013. The early season opening will be dependant on snow conditions. Silver Star is one of the best options for skiing in BC. The resort offers day skiing and snowboarding from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm seven days a week with 12 lifts, 115 marked trails and a terrain park.
