Easier Way to Obtain Business, Visit and Tourism Visas for Schengen Area for Residents of the Greater Chicago Area and the Rest of the Midwest

Switzerland in Cooperation With Lithuania Has Arranged That Residents of the Greater Chicago Area and the Rest of the Midwest Can Obtain Their Schengen Business, Visit and Tourism Visas in Chicago; The Consulate General of the Republic of Lithuania Is Now Issuing Short-Term Business and Tourism Visas on Behalf of Switzerland

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - September 02, 2014) - After the Consulate General of Switzerland in Chicago closed in July 2014, residents of the greater Chicago area and the rest of the Midwest had to travel to Washington, D.C. or New York City to obtain their Schengen visas if Switzerland was their point of entry. Switzerland has therefore made an arrangement with Lithuania to offer better service to residents of the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin who are traveling to the Schengen area as tourists or on business.

Applicants who qualify for a Schengen tourism or business visa can now submit their applications to the Consulate General of Lithuania in Chicago. The Consulate General of Lithuania will examine applications for tourism and business visas for short stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period in the Schengen area.

This arrangement makes it possible to provide better service to residents of the greater Chicago area and the rest of the Midwest who plan to enter the Schengen area through Switzerland.
