EastLink Selects Ericsson to build Mobile Broadband Network

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN--(Marketwire - Aug 17, 2011) -

* EastLink to provide Canadians with latest mobile broadband services in 2012 * Ericsson sole supplier of HSPA radio access networks and Evolved Packet Core (EPC) * Ericsson further expands its global HSPA leadership

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) announced today that it has signed a four-year agreement as the sole vendor for EastLink's core and radio access networks, using HSPA+ and next generation technologies. Ericsson will deploy its multi-standard radio base station; RBS 6000, circuit switched and packet networks including Evolved Packet Core and Operation Support Systems (OSS), as well as, providing professional services.

The RBS 6000 is a multi-standard radio base station which supports GSM/EDGE, WCDMA/HSPA and LTE, providing a cost-effective deployment for next- generation high-speed mobile broadband, video, and web application services while providing subscribers with a superior user experience.
