Eaton, Future Facilities and RF Code to Host Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) Seminar in Washington, D.C.

Well Known IT and Utilities Consultant Mark Bramfitt Will Lead the Sept. 14 Seminar on DCIM, Data Center Capacity and Utility Incentives

MCLEAN, VA--(Marketwire - Aug 27, 2012) - Eaton, Future Facilities and RF Code announced today that they will host a half-day seminar on improving data center efficiency through data center monitoring and predictive thermal modeling. The event, The Data Center Capacity Challenge: Can DCIM Help?, will be held Friday, September 14, 8 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., at the Ritz Carlton, Tyson's Corner in McLean, Virginia. The seminar will also feature an end user panel.

Mark Bramfitt, noted IT and Utilities consultant, will moderate the event.
According to experts, the elephant in the room is lost capacity, which can severely limit long term growth. This seminar will provide the tools and information data center operators need to future-proof their facilities against the threat of lost capacity.

Seminar topics will include:

  • Using DCIM to optimize and protect data center capacity
  • Leveraging use and business cases to select the right DCIM technology
  • Reducing data center costs while managing growth
  • Managing facilities efficiently
  • Maximizing infrastructure lifespan

The interactive conference will feature live demonstrations of how predictive thermal modeling and state-of-the-art data center monitoring can help IT and facility professionals measure current data center demands and anticipate future ones. Presenters will show how to create a virtual test facility that predicts and visualizes the outcome of power and cooling decisions before critical IT equipment is installed.

In addition, Philip Sandino, Director of Customer Solutions at Dominion Virginia Power, will update attendees on utility incentives and other credits.

Other speakers include:

  • Chris Gaskins, VP Product Development, RF Code
  • Brent Goren, Data Center Consultant, Eaton Corporation
  • Sherman Ikemoto, General Manager, Future Facilities, North America
  • Chris Thames, Director, Critical Facilities Operations, RagingWire

Space is limited; those interested in registering or getting additional information can go here.

On September 20, 2012, the three companies will take the seminar to Los Angeles, where the Uptime Institute's Bruce Taylor will lead the discussions and presentations.
