Eau Claire Dentist Finishes Advanced Implant Training

EAU CLAIRE, WI--(Marketwired - May 27, 2015) - Dr. Sean Tarpenning, a talented Eau Claire dentist, recently completed advanced training in dental implant restorations.
Dr. Tarpenning, who has been at Hebert Dental for 15 years, offers dental implants and long-lasting dental crown restorations. He has training in placing dental implants to replace missing teeth or to stabilize full-arch dentures and partial dentures.

The April 24 training focused on how to properly restore a dental implant after it is placed. Dr. Tarpenning and five other staff members attended the training program. Hebert Dental both places and restores dental implants. Once an implant is placed in the jawbone, it needs about four months to naturally fuse to the bone before the permanent crown is placed.

“We’re always eager to learn new techniques to ensure that our patients are receiving the best possible care,” Dr. Tarpenning said.

Hebert Dental offers free consultations for new patients and uses a CT scanner that provides 3D images of a patient's mouth, neck and oral cavity for diagnosis and treatment scheduling. Using the 3D images, Dr. Tarpenning can map out entire dental implants procedures. By finding the most appropriate location of the dental implant, Dr. Tarpenning can drastically increase the success rate of the surgery. “Dental implants are literally the closest thing to natural teeth we have in dentistry,” Dr. Tarpenning said. “By placing a durable, strong crown restoration or denture over the implant, we can give patients new teeth that will last them decades -- if not forever. The implants and restorations substantially improve biting force and give patients an incredible boost of confidence with their smile. It’s simply life-changing.”

Hebert Dental was started in 1975 by Dr. Thomas Herbert, and Dr. Tarpenning has been with the practice since 2000. Dr. Tarpenning provides cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry (All on Four dental implants and mini dental implants), sedation dentistry and orthodontic treatments.

Dr. Tarpenning graduated with honors from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa with a degree in biology and then the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Dr. Tarpenning has served as an adjunct fixed prosthodontics instructor at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and has twice been the president of the Chippewa Valley Dental Society. He has undergone hundreds of hours in postgraduate education in orthodontics, restorative and sedation dentistry. He has Advanced Cardiac Life Support Training, which permits him to practice oral sedation dentistry, and has had extensive training in Invisalign treatment.

In addition to orthodontics and preventive care, Hebert Dental offers screenings for dental emergencies such as: tooth trauma; tooth decay or cavities; chipped or broken teeth; teeth that have been knocked out; loose bands and brackets; missing crowns or fillings; broken aligners, braces or wires; severe toothaches; broken dentures; partially dislodged teeth; objects caught between teeth and abscesses.
