Eau Claire Dentist Introduces New Appliance to Accelerate Orthodontics

EAU CLAIRE, WI--(Marketwired - September 08, 2015) - Dr. Sean Tarpenning has implemented a new appliance that can cut orthodontic treatment time by as much as 30 to 50 percent when used for just 20 minutes a day.

AcceleDent Aura is a hands-free device that works with orthodontic treatment to rapidly move teeth. Patients are recommended to use the device 20 minutes every day. The system uses micropulses to speed up the treatment and is mobile.

"Whether preparing for a special event, such as a wedding or graduation, or simply wanting a better smile, patients come to me to straighten their teeth as quickly as possible," Dr. Tarpenning said. "Especially with adults and older teens, speed is often a deciding factor. Since time can be a major obstacle when it comes to orthodontic treatment, I am excited to offer AcceleDent Aura as a solution for patients."

AcceleDent was approved by the FDA in 2011 and has been used across the world to accelerate orthodontic treatment. Dr. Tarpenning said "This faster tooth movement can result in a significant reduction in the length of treatment, which can put patients on the fast track to beautiful smiles."

"I carefully consider new orthodontic treatments before recommending them to my patients. In the case of AcceleDent, I thoroughly researched the clinical data and the reports from orthodontists who have used this treatment since its 2009 introduction in Europe," Dr. Tarpenning said. "I am convinced that AcceleDent works and offers significant benefits to my patients. It’s safe, gentle and easy to use. I’m delighted to add it as part of my spectrum of treatments."

Hebert Dental was started in 1975 by Dr. Thomas Herbert, and Dr. Tarpenning has been with the practice since 2000. Hebert Dental provides cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry (All-on-4 dental implants and mini dental implants), sedation dentistry and orthodontic treatments. The practice uses dental implants as single-tooth replacements or to stabilize dentures. Dental implants are the closest thing in dentistry to natural teeth and can last a lifetime if cared for properly.

Dr. Tarpenning graduated with honors from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, with a degree in biology and then the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Dr. Tarpenning has served as an adjunct fixed-prosthodontics instructor at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and has twice been the president of the Chippewa Valley Dental Society.
