ECAL Announces Opening of U.S. Headquarters to Expand Global Operations

Innovative Tech Company Opens U.S. Headquarters and Hires Top American Executive to Get Closer to MLS, NFL Teams and NBA Teams

NEW YORK, NY and MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA--(Marketwired - Jan 22, 2015) - ECAL, the first right-time communications platform company, today announced the opening of its U.S. headquarters in New York and the hiring of John Lambrides as the Vice President of ECAL Americas. After recently closing a $2 Million Series A funding round from Oxygen Ventures and signing top U.S.-based customers such as Major League Soccer (MLS), ECAL plans to expand its global operations through the New York office. The New York location will give the company close proximity to existing customers including NFL teams the New England Patriots and New York Jets, MLS, NBA team The Boston Celtics, and NeuLion college sports.

ECAL delivers rich event content, from sporting events to concerts to business appointments, directly into any personal calendar on mobile, desktop or social. Over 500K people rely on ECAL-based communication to stay connected to the teams, people, brands and organizations they care about. The calendar is the last untapped marketing channel and through ECAL, brands and organizations are forging stronger relationships with fans and customers.

John Lambrides is an experienced and respected business development executive with a track record for delivering revenues and establishing relationships with top flight companies. His past roles include Director of Business Development US & CLA at RealDecoy, Director of Business Development NE at Siteworx and Director of Business Development eCommerce at NCR. John will be the point person for the ECAL U.S. office and the leader in directing ECAL to new verticals such as financial services, retail and media. He will also have responsibilities in the marketing of the company.

"Marketers are getting shut out as consumers choose to bypass tools such as email, advertising and even social media," said Patrick Barrett, Founder and CEO of ECAL. "We found a way to reach them on new ground -- their calendars -- and it's become the most valuable real estate in marketing. We work with top flight New York based companies including most of the top sports leagues and they're communicating with their fans and customers in ways they never imagined. By opening this U.S. headquarters, we're at the epicenter of companies willing to innovate, including media publishers, sports leagues, and the financial industry."

In 2014 ECAL won Oxygen Venture's The Big Pitch Competition, recognizing technology startups that are globally scalable. The ECAL New York Office will be at 335 Madison Avenue on the 16th floor. The company has plans to hire and expand the sales and account teams at this location.
