Ecast Hires DOOH Media Veteran Chris Goumas for SVP, Marketing and Media Solutions

New Position to Play Key Role in Defining Company's Place-Based Media Market Strategy

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - November 8, 2010) -  Ecast, a leader in place-based media solutions, today announced the hire of Christopher Goumas to the newly created position of senior vice president of marketing and media solutions. In this new role, Goumas will oversee marketing, product, business development and creative services for Ecast. Most recently, Goumas worked for Access 360 Media as SVP of retail and marketing solutions where he was responsible for mobile marketing, digital place-based media, retail development, sales support and marketing. Prior to Access 360 Media, Goumas was the director of retail development for Premier Retail Networks, where he was responsible for retailer and partner development.

"Chris comes to Ecast with extensive experience in place-based media applications and mobile marketing. As such, Chris will play a vital and formative role in enhancing Ecast's core music and media offerings for our current market and developing future products and markets that will lead to strategic expansion opportunities for the company," said John Taylor, CEO of Ecast.

As a nationally recognized expert in text (SMS & MMS) marketing and implementation for the retail and service sectors, Goumas was instrumental in bringing market defining mobile initiatives to the retail sector. Chief among them were "text2-screen" and "text2-web" services for events, social media and customer interactivity; iPhone apps for merchandising; and applets to support ecommerce, couponing and loyalty programs. Goumas is also a frequent industry speaker on mobile marketing, retail marketing and customer loyalty, and played an active role in driving key initiatives to advance digital place-based advertising as a member of the DPAA research and standards committee, chairman of the DPAA media operations committee and as a DPAA board member.

"I am excited by the future prospects we have at Ecast. With our innovative 40" EQ Jukebox, we have plans for key user interface, playability, social media and advertising enhancements that clearly establish this unit at the pinnacle of the bar/tavern music world. The enhancements will ensure that patrons find even more compelling reasons to engage with the apps and content on the screen, benefiting our operator and venue partners, as well as increasing dwell time and interaction, optimizing value for our brand advertisers," said Goumas. "The bar/tavern space should look for some game-changing announcements from us in the weeks and months to come."
