Echo360 Launches Analytics Platform to Address Data Gap in Predictive Analytics

University of Kentucky System Will Work With Ed Tech Firm to Better Understand Critical Student Behaviors in Real-Time

RESTON, VA--(Marketwired - Oct 22, 2015) - Today, Echo360 announced the launch of its new analytics platform, designed to help colleges and universities better understand, and improve student engagement. The University of Kentucky will utilize the platform to improve predictive analytics and support both student advising and institutional decision making.

Under increasing pressure to improve retention and completion rates, colleges and universities are making unprecedented investments in big data and predictive analytics efforts designed to improve student outcomes. Often missing, however, is access to classroom-level data that allows institutions to more accurately and quickly support students who may be struggling. To address that gap, University of Kentucky is working with Echo360 to pioneer a new predictive analytics model that takes into account real-time student engagement indicators.

University of Kentucky is using the Echo360 toolset to help faculty identify challenges and intervene with students who may be falling behind. When faculty upload course materials into the Echo360 active learning platform, they are able to gather insights on aspects of student engagement, including student confusion on specific topics, note taking, class participation and even peer-to-peer collaboration.
