Eclectic Programming at the Vieux Bureau de Poste in Levis

Government of Canada supports series of performances


LEVIS, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Nov. 13, 2014) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness and Member of Parliament (Lévis-Bellechasse), today announced funding for Diffusion Avant Scène in Lévis. He made this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages. The presenter will receive $20,000 ($10,000 for the 2015-2016 fiscal year and $10,000 for 2016-2017) through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund.

Audiences at the Vieux Bureau de Poste (Old Post Office), the presenter's main performance hall, will be able to attend a multidisciplinary series of about 75 concerts, theatrical performances and literary presentations, as well as dance and comedy shows. Diffusion Avant Scène will also feature contemporary, jazz, folk, pop and world music. From January to December, the lineup will include performances by professional artists from various Canadian provinces.

  • Diffusion Avant Scène, a local non-profit organization, was founded in 2004 and has managed the venue since then.
