ECO2 Forests Announces Approval for Plant Import Supply

SACRAMENTO, CA and QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA--(Marketwire - January 6, 2010) - ECO2 Forests Inc. (PINKSHEETS: ECOF), an international sustainable forestry company focused on reforestation and carbon sequestration projects, has been approved by the government of Vanuatu to import and supply plants for ECO2's previously announced reforestation project.

"For ECO2 Forests, being listed as an approved plant supplier by the Department of Livestock and Quarantine is a milestone towards the initial planned projects the company is currently working on in the Republic of Vanuatu," said Ray Smith, ECO2 Forests Asia Pacific Managing Director.

"Additionally, the company has filed for approval of foreign investment through the Vanuatu Investment Promotional Authority (VIPA) and is diligently working on compliance from both a corporate perspective and a forest creation and operations perspective.

"The company intends to have nursery operations setup in Vanuatu in the first quarter of 2010 enabling ECO2 to plant an additional 150,000 trees this season, enabling and increasing carbon credit revenue for the company. The plant import supply approval is yet another milestone reached for the commencement of the planned Vanuatu projects," Smith added.
