ECO2 Forests Inc. Releases Global Forestry Plan

SACRAMENTO, CA--(Marketwire - October 6, 2009) - ECO2 Forests Inc. (PINKSHEETS: ECOF), an international sustainable forestry company focused on reforestation and carbon sequestration projects, is proud to announce the public release of the company's Global Forestry Plan.

ECO2 Forests Inc, CEO Collie Christensen, "As the Obama Administration and world leaders steer the world to a greener future, the company's Global Forestry Plan provides a clear step forward to provide both positive economic and environmental outcomes."

"Our Global Forestry Plan is our platform through which we create our sustainable forestry projects to deliver shareholder value. The platform ensures our sustainable projects, individually and as a whole, are managed, maintained, accountable and measurable economically and environmentally," Collie Christensen said today.

"Central to the Global Forestry Plan is the ability of our Kiri Tree to sequester carbon dioxide greenhouse gas emissions from the atmosphere. It is this sequestration that creates carbon credits which we intend to sell to create positive cash flow prior to the sale of sustainable timber. The sale of carbon credits generates sound revenue returns but the major revenue and profit comes from the sale of ECO2's lumber.

"As an example, an ECO2 Forests Inc. 1,000 acre forest, in a single 7-year harvest cycle, will typically result in the planting of 225,000 Kiri Trees, the generation of 460,000 carbon credits, creation of 40 million board feet of sustainable timber and an estimated net profit of over US$100 million.

"Growing cycles of the Kiri Tree are typically seven years in duration and the tree regenerates from the stump in the next growing season after harvest, negating the need to replant the tree. The company's sustainable forests can realize up to five harvests in the same time as many traditional forestry projects take to create one.

"Global demand for high quality hardwood timber continues to rise, often at the expense of old growth forests. The fast growth cycles in the Global Forestry Plan, using our Kiri Tree, directly addresses this issue and provides a long term sustainable supply of timber for sale to global markets, while reducing the impact on old growth forests and greenhouse gas emissions levels.

"Employment is sourced from local communities, providing a long term source of employment and economic sustainability, while positively contributing to the environment.

"The combination of the fast growth and high sequestration levels of the Kiri Tree allow us to create a systematic way to replicate our sustainable forestry techniques around the world," Christensen added.

ECO2 Forests Inc. is currently evaluating proposals for reforestation projects in the United States including Indigenous land holders to create sustainable communities and alternative revenue through land partnerships.

Internationally, the company is focusing the Global Forestry Plan on Mined Land Rehabilitation in Australia and providing economic and employment stimulus in developing countries in the South Pacific through reforestation projects. Targets in South America include the reforestation of large deforested land parcels in the Amazon basin.

Under the ECO2 Forests Global Forestry Plan, the company intends to secure over 50,000 acres over the next three years for creating new forests.

"We are busy identifying and conducting due diligence on land and projects around the world ensuring the projects we choose will deliver on our Global Forestry Plan's vision -- a positive environmental and economical outcome for all our stakeholders," Christensen concluded.
