Ecology and Environment, Inc. Awarded $50.4 Million EPA Region 10 START IV Contract


LANCASTER, NY--(Marketwired - Aug 7, 2013) - Ecology and Environment, Inc. (E & E) (NASDAQ: EEI) has been awarded a contract by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the Superfund Technical Assessment and Response Team (START) IV in Region 10. This is similar to an existing contract for services which E & E has held with EPA Region 10 for several years. The $50.4 million fixed-rate, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract has a 36-month base period with two 24-month option periods, for a total potential contract term of 84 months (seven years). The contract also includes a 50% option increase which may be utilized in the case of catastrophic events.

Under the contract, E & E will provide technical support to EPA Region 10 (which consists of Alaska, Idaho, Washington and Oregon) for emergency response, removal, site assessment, training, data management and related technical and administrative services. The services will be performed in accordance with the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 (also known as CERCLA or Superfund) as amended, the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan, and other environmental statues. E & E will provide services to support response and site assessment activities related to the release or threat of release of oil, petroleum products, hazardous substances, weapons of mass destruction or pollutants and contaminants that pose an actual or potential threat to human health and welfare, or to the environment.
