Toolkit Enables Powerful Universal PC Client for Document Imaging; Allows Business Applications to Bridge the Paper - Electronic Barrier

MIAMI, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 15, 2007 -- eCopy Paper Connection Forum -- eCopy, Inc., a leading provider of solutions that integrate paper documents into business software applications, today announced the eCopy Desktop™ Software Developer Toolkit (SDK), which is used to integrate desktop document imaging capabilities with business applications. With the SDK and eCopy Desktop software, corporate and third-party developers can easily bridge the gap between paper documents and business software, enabling office workers to add paper directly into electronic workflows and business processes.

The SDK enables organizations to utilize eCopy Desktop as a universal client for scanned documents entering any business workflow. eCopy Desktop can accept documents captured by TWAIN-based desktop multifunction peripherals (MFPs) and many scanners, as well as from office MFPs utilizing eCopy ShareScan software or other document capture software.

The eCopy Desktop SDK provides application programming interfaces, a wizard that generates the sample code framework, and documentation to develop Connectors that link document imaging to other desktop applications, databases, and back-end software systems. Additionally, developers can use the SDK to extend the capabilities of eCopy Desktop to include, for example, zonal optical character recognition, forms recognition, and bar code recognition.

The eCopy Desktop SDK is intended for software vendors, system integrators, software developers, in-house corporate developers and value-added resellers that have a background in Microsoft C++, .NET 2003 or .NET 2005.

eCopy Desktop is a PC software application that enables office workers to easily and efficiently capture, edit, share, and store scanned documents in PDF form. Through an easy to use interface, eCopy Desktop offers advanced editing tools that include the ability to combine documents from both paper and electronic sources. eCopy Desktop works with desktop scanners and MFPs and networked MFPs. The software is available with the purchase of eCopy ShareScan or separately in multi-user license packs.
