eCopy Supports Ricoh's "Next Generation" ESA

ShareScan Utilizes Ricoh's New Color Displays to Enhance End-User Experience

BOSTON, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 17, 2007 -- AIIMexpo -- eCopy Inc., a leading provider of solutions that integrate paper documents into business software applications, today announced that eCopy ShareScan supports Ricoh's Embedded Software Architecture (ESA) Version 2.0. With the support of Ricoh's "Next Generation" ESA, eCopy continues to set the standard for simple, secure, and cost-effective electronic distribution and integration of paper-based information.

eCopy now combines its award-winning document imaging software with Ricoh's new multifunction hardware lineup, providing customers with an improved user interface on Ricoh's multifunction product (MFP) color displays, enhanced management of Java services and improved password security. eCopy enables Ricoh MFP users to scan both black and white and color documents and distribute the digital files over the corporate network or Internet.

"eCopy enables customers to securely capture and manage critical documents and improve their overall business processes," said Hede Nonaka, senior vice president, Document Solutions and Services Division of Ricoh Americas Corporation. "By supporting Ricoh's ESA, eCopy is taking full advantage of the WVGA (wide video graphic array) color displays now available on Ricoh multifunction devices, while also providing customers with advanced password security."

"eCopy is the industry's most experienced application software vendor in the area of development for embedded MFP environments," said Keith Lietzke, eCopy general manager. "We developed the first embedded application for MFPs. As a result of our experience, our new software uses the capabilities of Ricoh's ESA to the fullest extent to provide Ricoh customers with the best possible document scanning and distribution product. For example, eCopy ShareScan includes a superior user interface with uncluttered screens and the ability to see scanned documents in color on the device's display."

In April, the industry analyst firm Bertl named eCopy as the "Best MFP Workflow Software" for 2007. eCopy ShareScan utilizes a MFP to convert paper-based information into electronic images that can be incorporated directly into the workflow of business processes, such as reporting, administration, document management, financials, human resources, and customer management. The software provides organizations with the highest levels of protection to safeguard intellectual capital and conform to government and corporate compliance programs.

eCopy software provides customers with the ability to use office MFPs with more than 50 enterprise business applications such as EMC Documentum, FileNet, Interwoven, and Microsoft SharePoint and Outlook/Exchange. With over 50,000 licenses of ShareScan shipped, eCopy is the market leader in MFP document capture software.
