eCopy Unveils Program for VARs and Systems Integrators to Capture New Revenue Opportunities With Solutions That Integrate Paper Documents Into Enterprise Applications

Cranel Imaging Signs on to Provide eCopy Software to Value Added Distributor's Channel of 500 VARs

NASHUA, NH -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 14, 2005 -- eCopy, Inc., a leading provider of solutions that integrate paper documents into enterprise software applications, today launched the eCopy Solution Provider Program that enables value-added resellers (VARs) and system integrators (SIs) to tap the rapidly growing product and professional services market for scan-enabled digital copiers. Now VARs and SIs can expand revenues by providing their customers with an easy method for incorporating paper-based information into enterprise applications, such as enterprise content management (ECM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), and e-mail.

eCopy also announced today an agreement with Cranel Imaging, the nation's top value added distributor of document imaging products, to distribute eCopy software to its channel of more than 500 VARs. Cranel Imaging provides VARs with a range of training, marketing, sales and support services, including an online training service on how to install and configure eCopy software. The company has more than 30 Certified Document Imaging Architechs+ (CDIAs) that are experienced in helping VARs design and specify imaging solutions that meet customer budget and performance requirements.

"Cranel Imaging offers only the best and most innovative technologies the marketplace has to offer, and eCopy software is clearly the market leader in integrating paper-based information into enterprise applications," said Scott Slack, vice president and general manager at Cranel Imaging. "With its new Open Platform architecture that enables companies to easily access robust document scanning services on any digital copier or scanner, eCopy will be the catalyst for major new business opportunities across our reseller network."

eCopy's recently announced Open Platform Architecture enables VARs and SIs to focus on their core applications and services and not on offering multiple, complex solutions for the wide range of available digital copier and scanner platforms. It helps these companies pursue and win new revenue opportunities by making available turnkey software integration between enterprise applications and eCopy's robust document scanning services operating on a range of digital copiers and scanners. The addition of paper-based information to enterprise systems frequently increases end user adoption, customer value and return on investment. "Scan-enabled digital copiers make the ideal on-ramp for distributed capture of paper documents for storage in the Interwoven WorkSite ECM system," said James A. Veraldi, executive vice president at Micro Strategies Inc., a leading Interwoven partner. "As a result, we see significant opportunity with eCopy's program because it provides us with the capability to leverage our customers' existing digital copier investments."

According to Jürgen Stephan, vice president of Global Marketing at Captaris, "eCopy's program offers Captaris RightFax resellers the ability to tap into their customers' existing investments in scan-enabled digital copiers to provide a combined electronic and paper fax solution. There's no longer a need for customers to fax paper documents using a fax machine. Instead, RightFax resellers can provide a cost-effective, high image quality, and secure solution for both paper and electronic faxing using our server-based software."

eCopy connectors are available for a variety of enterprise software systems, such as EMC Documentum Enterprise Content Management Platform and ApplicationXtender, Captaris RightFax, and Microsoft Exchange. By transforming digital copiers into paper document on-ramps, eCopy software helps organizations advance their information lifecycle management (ILM) strategies and addresses the challenge of distributing, managing, accessing, and protecting paper-based information.
