Ecotech Institute Again Named to the 'Best for Vets' List

Ecotech Institute Is Ranked 10th Among Career and Technical Colleges in 2015

DENVER, CO--(Marketwired - Nov 14, 2014) - The Military Times has once again named Ecotech Institute to its Best for Vets: Career & Technical Colleges List. The list honors top military friendly schools doing the most for veterans. Ecotech Institute, the first and only school in the U.S. solely focused on renewable energy and sustainability, came in at 10th out of 36 institutions. The Military Times ranks the schools based on what veterans have told them are important, such as university culture, student support, academic policies, academic quality and financial aid.

"At Ecotech Institute we are very proud and thankful to be ranked so highly on this 'Best for Vets List'," said Chris Gorrie, President of Ecotech Institute. "Our high military population and genuine support of our military student body is proof of our commitment to those who have served and are currently serving. We are thrilled to once again receive this honor from Military Times Magazine."

Military veterans make up more than 30 percent of Ecotech Institute's student population. Ecotech Institute received high marks from Military Times in many categories, including:

  • Staffing a specific veterans office;
  • Accepting ACE credits;
  • Being at or below the TA cap (monetary limit set for military tuition assistance);
  • Participation in the post 9/11 GI Bill Yellow Ribbon Program;
  • Staff and academic support;
  • ACICS accreditation;
