ECU Silver Mining Inc.: Press Release

TORREON, COAHUILA--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 13, 2006) - ECU Silver Mining inc. (TSX VENTURE:ECU) (the "Company") is pleased to announce assay results from drifting on the 15.5 and 17th levels in the Tres Aguilas area of the Santa Juana mine. These results were compiled from a newly discovered fourth mineralized vein on the 15.5 level, which has been identified as the "A1" vein, and new assays from the third vein, identified as the "A2" vein on the 17th level (see Stockwatch news release October 13, 2005).

To date, the Company has thus far discovered four of the 16 veins that have been historically mined west of the Tres Aguilas fault at the Santa Juana mine: the "CC", the "Santa Juana", the "A2" and the "A1". Continued exploration programs are under way to localize the other 12 veins.

The results outlined in the table below were obtained from 30 meters of drift driven along the "A2" vein on level 17, and 35 meters of drift along the "A1" vein on level 15.5. As for the "A2" vein, it continues to demonstrate a very high content of calcite with high values in gold and silver. As for the "A1" vein, it is a base and precious metals rich vein. From a geological point of view, the Company is most pleased as this continued pattern of higher calcite content at depth is just further confirmation of the close proximity of the intrusive and the associated skarns.

Given the extensive planned drilling program the Company is embarking on in early 2006, a significant amount of data will be collected that will further verify the depth, grade, and continuity of the four veins already encountered, as well as identify the remaining twelve veins in the same area.

All the samples represent the true width of the veins. Samples were assayed at Mina de San Luis, state of Durango, Mexico. Property specific quality control samples were inserted at regular intervals in the sample sequence.

Mr. Michel Roy, P. Geo., a "qualified person" within the meaning of NI 43-101, prepared the technical information disclosed in this news release.

ECU Silver Mining Inc is a junior Gold, Silver, Zinc and Lead producer in the prolific mining district of Velardeña, Mexico where historically over 500,000 ounces of Gold and 250,000,000 ounces of silver have been mined. Full scale production began in May 2005 at the Company's Santa Juana mine. To ensure the Company is positioned for continued growth and expansion, and to take full advantage of the current record setting metals prices, the Company has a fully operational infrastructure in place, several months of planned production available from the current stopes, and ongoing exploration programs.
