ecVision® Adds Online Help Functionality to XpressCommerce

End-User Usability Feature Improves Retail Software Productivity and Proficiency

ISELIN, NJ--(Marketwire - April 16, 2008) - ecVision, an award-winning provider of product lifecycle and supply chain software solutions, today announced that with its May 2008 release of XpressCommerce™, customers will have the option to add an Online Help feature to the application during implementation. As Web-based applications become richer in functionality users will inevitably need assistance, making quick access to help even more important. By providing users with the knowledge they need at their fingertips, the results include reductions in training time and technical support costs, while improving performance and productivity. Studies show this level of functionality can reduce training costs by up to 200% by connecting system documentation and user's manuals with users who need to quickly locate the information they need to operate proficiently.

XpressCommerce is a Web-based software solution that delivers the key functions of product lifecycle management (PLM) and supply chain execution (SCE) systems in a single solution. With XpressCommerce, retailers and brand manufacturers achieve:

-- greater flexibility with changing consumer trends through improved
collaboration with their international supplier network,
-- increased margins by broadening the global vendor reach,
-- enhanced productivity with greater visibility and reporting
    capabilities,
-- and rapid delivery of products to market through the supply chain
    tracking.

The Online Help feature that will be bundled with XpressCommerce is defined as "context-sensitive help" since users are provided assistance from a specific point in the software. The user-selected object in the application is linked to the relevant end-user documentation content. A Table of Contents tab provides a summary of content arranged in a logical order; the Search tab provides the user with a tool that searches for a given combination of words. Search term results are displayed as highlighted text to present a clear path to find the information they need. Furthermore, the Online Help documentation doesn't have to be limited to application specific information, but can also include business process guidelines.
