The Edge Connection Receives the Ms. Foundation Fairy Godmother Fund Award on Behalf of Their Client Life Evolutions Behavioral Health Center

KENNESAW, GA--(Marketwire - July 18, 2007) - The Edge Connection was awarded the 2007 Ms. Foundation Fairy Godmother Fund Award for their nominee Atasha Murray, Founder of Life Evolutions Behavioral Health Center. Atasha is an experienced clinical social worker who offers health counseling services to individuals experiencing mental, physical, or developmental challenges. Atasha founded Life Evolutions Behavior Health Center in 2003 and is in the process of establishing a new facility in Decatur, Georgia. This health practice is unique in that it initially provides in-home services to assist new clients.

The Edge Connection's Director of the SBA Women's Business Center, B. Janine Anthony states that, "Atasha personifies tenacity. From the beginning of her relationship with The Edge Connection, she stood out as one who refused to accept anything less than the fulfillment of her business dreams. She is focused and determined. Her business is growing by leaps and bounds. Atasha is definitely one to watch. She has only begun to scratch the surface of her full potential."

The Ms. Foundation for Women established the Fairy Godmother Fund in 1997 to support the development of microenterprises across the country. Each year, this endowed fund generates micro-equity grants that provide funds to qualified woman-owned businesses. Specifically, the Fund seeks to support businesses based in low-income communities with limited access to capital. This year's awardees have each received a $2,500 equity award.

Nominations for the Fairy Godmother Fund are made by past and current grantee organizations of the Ms. Foundation's Collaborative Fund for Women's Economic Development. These organizations provide financial and technical support to new and/or start-up businesses and make nominations based on documented data illustrating the viability of the business.

The Edge Connection is a fully independent, non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization located at the Coles College of Business, Kennesaw State University. The Edge Connections targets women, minorities, and persons with disabilities through metro Atlanta and beyond.
