Edgeware Delivers Com Hem's New TiVo Service

Com Hem, Sweden Announced as First Customer of Fully Integrated Solution for Cable Operators

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwired - Mar 18, 2014) - TV Connect Stand 73 -- Edgeware, the technology leader in distributed video delivery, today announced a solution that enables innovative pay-TV operators like Com Hem to offer advanced services, including cloud-based catchup TV, to TiVo devices and multiscreen applications.

Com Hem, the leading provider of cable TV, broadband and telephony packages in Sweden, has deployed the solution to enhance and extend its popular live and on-demand TV services to all screens. The new TiVo service was made available in October last year to Com Hem's 1.82 million connected homes in Sweden, including more than 600,000 existing TV subscribers. At the end of 2013, 38,000 TiVo boxes had been sold, representing 6 percent of the customer base in just three months.

Edgeware's Distributed Video Delivery Network (D-VDN) Solution enables cable operators to deploy a highly efficient video delivery network capable of delivering true pay-TV quality to the TiVo digital video recorders (DVRs) and TiVo apps on other devices and includes highly efficient network recording capabilities. An integration with SeaChange's Adrenalin™ multiscreen television platform specifically enables innovative new features including recording and delivery of TiVo Play channels in the network and TiVoToGo™ streaming and download to iOS and Android devices on the move.

"The combination of TiVo, Edgeware and SeaChange products has provided us with a platform to deliver much smarter and more personal TV experiences," says Henri Caddeo, CTO at Com Hem. "We are happy to work with these leading vendors who share our passion to develop such innovative and high-quality pay-TV services."

"We are very excited to have been chosen by Com Hem together with TiVo and SeaChange to deliver this compelling, next-generation cable TV service," says Joachim Roos, founder and CEO at Edgeware.
