EDI Exploration Drilling International GmbH Awarded Drilling Project By Coca-Cola Pakistan

BLAINE, WASHINGTON--(Marketwire - Aug. 20, 2007) - Exploration Drilling International Inc. (OTCBB:EXDL) announced today that its wholly owned operating subsidiary, EDI Exploration Drilling International GmbH ("EDI GmbH"), based in Haltern am See, Germany, has been awarded a drilling contract by Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan Ltd. ("Coca-Cola Pakistan"). This is the first time EDI GmbH has had a commercial drilling order from an international company. Coca-Cola Pakistan is looking to find a suitable construction site with access to a water aquifer of sufficient quality and quantity to supply a large-scale bottling plant.

The drilling contract will be handled locally in Karachi and is expected to take five months to complete. EDI GmbH will be paid a total of EUR 72,743 to drill, test and analyze a total of four test holes. Drilling will be to a depth of up to 300 meters and will be carried out at two different locations in the country. EDI GmbH will provide the entire project team, comprising of a project manager, geologist and drillmaster.

EDI GmbH's innovative technology allows it to explore water sources much more rapidly than can be done using traditional methods. This technology makes it possible to analyze several different water-bearing strata in one drilling operation, while providing the geological and hydrological data necessary to allow Coca-Cola Pakistan to decide where to construct their bottling plant. The time and cost advantages of EDI GmbH's proprietary drilling methods convinced Coca-Cola Pakistan to choose EDI GmbH for the water exploration and drilling project instead of competing service providers.

Innovative technology from Germany in use worldwide.

For this drilling project, EDI GmbH will use its patented Fluid Finder technology. The Fluid Finder makes it possible to use the conventional mud rotary drilling method to conduct multiple sampling in one borehole. Using previously existing technologies, if a negative water sample was found, a new hole would need to be drilled at another location, depending on the conditions. With the Fluid Finder, a geologist can take water samples from different depths, or "test horizons", and, in the case of poor water quality, can continue boring in the same hole without contaminating subsequent samples taken at lower depths.

EDI GmbH's technology - invented in Germany - has already been used in Namibia and Germany, with additional projects planned for Saudi Arabia. Apart from its reduced impact on the environment, this drilling system permits cost savings of over 40 percent over traditional drilling methods, as multiple sampling in a single borehole saves an enormous amount of work. "These significant cost advantages in the exploitation of drinking water reserves have now also been discovered by free enterprise companies," explains Rainer Rotthauser, CEO of EDI GmbH. "Until now, it has primarily been governments, ministries and state undertakings which have used our innovative and environmentally sound technology. We hope that this project will lead to additional orders from private industry."

In addition to historical data, this press release may also contain forward-looking statements. Known and unknown risks and imponderables may lead to considerable deviation of actual results from the results contained herein. It should be noted in particular that there is no guarantee that EDI Exploration Drilling International GmbH will be able to successfully complete the above-mentioned drilling project or to obtain additional drilling projects in the future. Readers are cautioned not to place undue reliance on the forward-looking statements made in this Press Release.
