EDIMS Achieves Strong Growth in 2010

LIVINGSTON, NJ--(Marketwire - February 17, 2011) - EDIMS LLC, a leading provider of interoperable emergency department (ED) information management systems, today announced that it experienced its most successful year in 2010. In spite of the economic downturn, the company continues on a strong growth path with significant increases in sales and revenue, and is expanding its operations to meet the increased demands. This year's successes were underscored by a number of notable achievements, including signing new agreements with multiple hospitals, renewing or expanding existing agreements and forming partnerships with several healthcare vendors to enhance the EDIMS offering. EDIMS was also proud to achieve 2011/2012 CCHIT certification and **ONC/ATCB modular EHR certification for EDIMS 2.6, positioning it to assist hospitals with receiving stimulus funding and meeting the requirements for meaningful use.

Most notable among its wins this year was the Saint Barnabas Health Care System (SBHCS), New Jersey's largest integrated health care delivery system, including six hospitals. Saint Barnabas selected EDIMS because of its proven ability to drive productivity and profitability over the past several years at one of its hospitals. In addition to a best-in-class EHR, the hospitals benefit from features that include a comprehensive charge capture system and intuitive computerized provider order entry (CPOE). The hospitals also receive EDIMS' other recent upgrades, including its industry-leading clinical decision support tools and redesigned documentation module that further streamlines workflow for clinicians, billers, and medical records staff.

EDIMS and one of its hospital clients, Clara Maass Medical Center (CMMC), also signed a unique agreement to deliver medical services at the newly opened Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J. By providing on-site medical attention -- from CMMC -- and the seamless and secure exchange of patient information from the arena's medical center to the hospital leveraging the EDIMS system, the arena is able to offer the highest quality emergency care to all of its customers, staff and players.

EDIMS also partnered with several vendors as part of its ongoing commitment to continually enhance its offering and provide industry-leading solutions that meet the needs of nurses, physicians, patients and hospitals. These included:

  • A multiyear agreement to license Callibra Inc.'s Discharge 1-2-3 solution, which automates the ED discharge process, including providing patient-specific instructions and prescriptions.
  • A strategic relationship with Medit Corporation to offer expedited emergency care through the use of Medit's MiRapidAccess kiosk and online PHR that will help EDIMS' hospital clients speed triage and treatment of their ED patients.
  • A licensing agreement with First DataBank to give EDIMS' hospital clients medication reconciliation from triage through disposition.

"We are thrilled with our growth in 2010 and are confident that it is just the beginning of some dramatic changes for our industry," said Shane Hade, CEO of EDIMS. "In 2011, we plan to further enhance our technology offerings and clinical expertise to maintain our position as the most advanced EMR system designed specifically to meet the demands of our nation's emergency departments."

** On Oct. 22, EDIMS electronic health record (EHR), EDIMS 2.6, was deemed 2011/2012 compliant and certified as an EHR Module by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®), an ONC-ATCB, in accordance with the applicable hospital certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. This designation will enable EDIMS customers to meet the Stage 1 meaningful use measures required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). EDIMS 2.6 certification number is CC-1112-430980-1.
