Editis and Quebecor Establish Ties in Canada

PARIS, FRANCE--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 12, 2005) - In announcing the acquisition of Sogides ltee, the largest publishing and distribution group in Quebec, Quebecor Media is creating closer ties with Editis, a long-time partner of Messageries A.D.P. (a subsidiary of Sogides) in Canada.

Editis sees this acquisition as an opportunity to consolidate its position in the Canadian market and gain a partner in its development strategy.

The two companies are currently working on an agreement focusing on Quebecor Media's editorial development and other segments that will be announced officially on October 21, 2005 at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
