Editorial Feature: BPA/CCAB Releases Circulation Data for Canadian Community Newspapers

SHELTON, CT--(Marketwire - Jun 29, 2012) - The Canadian Circulations Audit Board (CCAB), the Canadian division of global media auditor BPA Worldwide, today released its Community Newspaper TRAC (Trend Report About Circulation) analysis of top-line circulation data for the period ending March 2012. For the first time since 160 community newspapers based in Quebec and eastern Ontario applied for membership, CCAB has also released a TRAC analysis that is specific to these markets.

Circulation data from a total of 221 community newspapers from all provinces and territories is analyzed in the Canadian TRAC, while the new members from Quebec and eastern Ontario are also analyzed in a separate TRAC. The Community Newspaper TRAC reports top-line circulation data for all community newspaper members, including: Paid Circulation; Voluntary Paid Circulation; Non-Paid Individual; Non-Paid Bulk; and Householder Counts. Both TRAC reports are available as PDFs, as well as Microsoft® Excel® files for easy data analysis.

"CCAB's TRAC provides media buyers with a quick and easy-to-use means to evaluate the circulation of Canadian community newspapers," noted Ross Marin, President of Marin Media Group and Chair of CCAB's Canadian Newspaper Advisory Board (CNAB). "Given that CCAB has added a significant number of community newspapers to TRAC - last released six months ago - this reinforces the importance of TRAC for Canadian media buyers."

"We are excited about releasing the Community Newspaper TRAC," said Tim Peel, Vice President of CCAB. "All stakeholders will benefit from having access to this data and appreciate the easy-to-use Excel® format that allows for in-depth data analysis."
