Editorial Feature: CCAB/BPA Releases Annual Circulation Data for Canadian Daily Newspapers

Shelton, CT--(Marketwired - Mar 26, 2015) - CCAB, the Canadian division of assurance provider BPA Worldwide, has released annual circulation data for 40 paid and non-paid daily newspaper members, including four of Canada's largest newspaper publishing groups: Sun Media, Torstar Corporation, TC Media and Free Daily News Group Inc.

Circulation data covers the 12-month period ended December 2014. For the second year, paid dailies are reporting net unique individual subscriptions served across multiple platforms in circulation reports and TRAC (Trend Report About Circulation). This is the first year that some dailies have elected to report using CCAB's multi-channel Brand Report format to showcase audience reach of their brands across multiple media platforms, including print, and replica and non-replica e-editions, social media and website activity.

According to Bruce Neve, CEO, Starcom MediaVest Canada and Chair of CCAB's Canadian Newspaper Advisory Board (CNAB), "The timing of CCAB's data precedes the release of PMB/comScore Fused database - Spring 2015. Daily newspaper circulation data, soon to be released by CCAB on a quarterly basis, will become better aligned with data releases made by Amalco - the temporary name assigned to the media measurement organization formed through the merger of Newspaper Audience Databank (NADbank) and Print Measurement Bureau (PMB). CCAB's coordinated releases of daily newspaper data continues to provide media buyers with robust data on a timely basis."
