SHELTON, CT--(Marketwired - Jul 15, 2013) - The European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA), which is responsible for enacting key aspects of the self-regulatory initiative on Online Behavioral Advertising (OBA) across Europe, today announced BPA Worldwide has been approved as a certification provider for a new Trust Seal of approval that demonstrates compliance with the EU Self-Regulatory Program.

The EDAA Trust Seal is an important part of the self-regulatory initiative in Europe. Designed to help achieve the all-important transparency objective, it will be an easily recognizable symbol for both consumers and business partners, and will demonstrate the good standing and responsibility of companies which receive it. The Trust Seal enables companies to prove that they meet standards set out in the European Principles on OBA.

As an EDAA-approved certification provider, BPA will be responsible for independently assessing whether companies are meeting the requirements of the European self-regulatory principles on OBA and issue a Trust Seal to compliant companies. A crucial feature in ensuring compliance and trust in the self-regulatory program is that BPA will continue to monitor the compliance of companies even after they have been awarded with the seal.
