Editorial Feature: Record Attendance at 14th Annual BusCon

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - September 29, 2009) - With trade shows in nearly every field suffering, BusCon 2009 had close to 2200 attendees, a 12 percent increase over last year, and a record for the event now in its 14th year. BusCon was again held at Navy Pier in Chicago and featured 59 vehicles on display along with an array of various suppliers of components and services for bus operators. A total of 140 companies exhibited at the event held Sept. 14-16.

"BusCon has become the industry event by which all bus shows will be measured," declared Ty Bobit, founder of BusCon. "It brings people together from every segment of the industry - public transit, tour and charter, as well as segments that use buses to transport their customers. It's unique and offers so much to see and learn. New technology abounds!"

Several new bus models were introduced at the show including the Glaval EnTourage, a 35-passenger cutaway; the 43-passenger Goshen Wolverine; and a front-engine bus with European styling built by Galaxy. In addition, there were 13 education sessions including "Pre-Delivery Inspection Guidelines for New Buses" and "Choosing Transportation Technology Based on What You Need...Not What It Can Do."

BusCon 2010 is scheduled for Sept. 29-30, 2010 at Navy Pier in Chicago.
