Editorial Feature: subTerrain Magazine Is Pleased to Announce Line Break: the subTerrain Blog of Art and Poetry

Line Break Is a Meeting Place of Art and Poetry, an Exploration of How They Talk to Each Other, an Invitation to See and Say Where Art and Poetry Meet or Split

VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwired - Apr 9, 2015) - This spring, subTerrain Magazine launches Line Break: the subTerrain blog of art and poetry. Each week beginning Monday, April 13 the blog will present readers with two poems and two critiques, one poem-critique pair for each section of Line Break: The "How A Poem Reads" section focusing on a close-reading of a poem, and the "Poets Among Artists" section offering a poem inspired by art.

Contributing poets and critics include Amber Dawn, Lucas Crawford, Amber McMillan, Melissa Bull, Brecken Hancock, Renée Sarojini Saklikar, Doretta Lau, Jen Currin, Jacqueline Valencia, Raoul Fernandes, Michael Prior, Dina Del Bucchia, Daniel Zomparelli, Jeremy Stewart, Rachel Rose, Mariner Janes, Colin Browne, Donato Mancini, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Kevin Spenst, Jon Paul Fiorentino, John Barton, Aaron Peck, Marguerite Pigeon, Heidi Greco, Bud Osborn, Richard Tetrault, Jordan Abel, Patrick Friesen, Trevor Carolan, Sheryda Warrener, Taryn Hubbard, Wayde Compton, and Kevin McNeilly.

Visitors to Line Break will be encouraged to engage with the poetry by sharing their comments on the blog. Readers can share their own reactions to the material, and can utilize the comments section to address how they see the lines between art and poetry blurred or defined by each poem.

From ekphrastic poems (poems describing art or otherwise inspired by art) to poems that actually appear as visual art in form, subTerrain is pleased to provide a new space for readers and viewers of poetry.

Line Break: the subTerrain blog of art and poetry can be found at www.subterrain.ca. New poems and critiques will be published weekly until July of 2015.

subTerrain gratefully acknowledges the BC Arts Council (Innovations) for their financial assistance with the Line Break project.
