Edmonton Economic Development Corporation: Businesses Gain Valuable Support from Regional Alliance

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Sept. 13, 2012) - Aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners looking to grow their companies can tap into services and resources from two important Edmonton organizations: the Northern Alberta Business Incubator (NABI) and the Business Link.

Both members of the Greater Edmonton Regional Technology Alliance, NABI and the Business Link have been supporting Edmonton businesses for decades, offering a range of services, information and resources available at any stage of development.

NABI provides services such as business planning programs and business coaching and mentoring, enabling entrepreneurs to run their businesses smoothly and economically. Other services include the use of office space, as well as seminar and administrative support.

The Business Link is a not-for-profit organization supported by the federal and provincial governments, which facilitates similar business support services, either for free or a nominal fee for publications, seminars and other services.

Both help connect business owners to ensure there is access to resources to information, support and advice for business success.

"As businesses flourish, these organizations are crucial resources for Edmonton's economy," says Mike Wo, executive director of economic growth and development at Edmonton Economic Development Corporation (EEDC). "They are invaluable members in the Regional Alliance."

Other alliance members include EEDC, TEC Edmonton, novaNAIT, TRLabs, Startup Edmonton, National Institute of Nanotechnology and the National Research Council's Industrial Research and Assistance Program.

The Edmonton Research Park (ERP) houses dozens of research companies and is managed by Edmonton Economic Development Corporation (EEDC). The ERP is also a stakeholder in TEC Edmonton, a joint venture with the University of Alberta.
