Edmonton to Host Major Conference PetroChem Canada 2016

CANADIAN PETROCHEMICAL INDUSTRY LEADERS GATHER NOVEMBER 1-2 IN EDMONTON TO DISCUSS CURRENT AND FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ENERGY DIVERSIFICATION

The inaugural two-day PetroChem Canada conference will provide leaders in the petrochemical industry the opportunity to share ideas, promote diversification and investment, and work together to create the best possible competitive advantage for Canada in the world markets.

Increased activity in Alberta surrounding petrochemical manufacturing includes the Petrochemicals Diversification Program announced on February 1st 2016, has spurred interest in the development of new Alberta petrochemical facilities by providing up to $500 million in incentives through royalty credits. The program initially garnered 16 applications representing more than $20 billion in potential new investment interest in Alberta's petrochemical industry. Winning bids are expected to be announced later in 2016.
