Eduplanet21 Announces the Release of the Pennsylvania Comprehensive Literacy Institute

MECHANICSBURG, PA--(Marketwired - June 13, 2014) - Eduplanet21 is proud to announce the release of the Pennsylvania Comprehensive Literacy Institute on www.eduplanet21.com.

The Pennsylvania Comprehensive Literacy Institute is an online institute for all Pennsylvania educators to join. The purpose of the PA Comprehensive Literacy Institute is to create a learning network for Pre-K - Grade 12 Pennsylvania educators.

Given the expectations for students graduating from Pennsylvania schools in the 21st century and the need for all students to be "career and college ready" at the end of grade 12, educators will need to rethink the ways by which they approach literacy instruction at all levels, including early learning for students ages birth through five years of age.

This Institute will provide digital literacy resources, materials and professional learning opportunities to advance literacy skills -- including pre-literacy skills, reading, and writing -- for students from birth through grade 12, including limited-English-proficient students and students with disabilities. The net result is improved understanding of the keys skills in literacy development, and a chance to finally identify the key components of an effective district, school, and/or classroom literacy program.

The Pennsylvania Comprehensive Literacy Institute and the first of a series of Learning Paths, Using Data for Literacy Decision-Making, will be released at the Pennsylvania Literacy Conference that will be held at the Penn Stater Hotel on June 17-19, 2014.
