The Habits of Mind Part
Habits of Mind
are the attitudes and dispositions that help students become better thinkers and problem solvers who know what to do when the answers are not immediately apparent.
The 21st century has presented both new challenges and new opportunities for educators. The Habits of Mind -- thinking and character habits that can promote a healthy, critical life perspective -- are more important than ever in an increasingly distracted and connected world.
In response, Art Costa and Bena Kallick propose 16 habits (such as Listening with Understanding and Empathy, or Persisting) that, when engaged, can build students' success in the classroom, in the workplace, and in life.
The Virtual Conference Part
Accessing not just the Habits of Mind content, but the educators behind their development, truly has never been simpler. Through Eduplanet21, users will enjoy the same structure as an in-person conference -- pre-conference content, multiple sessions, and post-conference networking!
The day offers a rich variety of sessions and participants are encouraged to join any or all. After the conference day, participants will join a social learning community and will have access to continuous discussions, new resources, and support from coaches in the field.
Join Bena Kallick and Art Costa, authors of the Habits of Mind series, in an exciting new kind of conference: A Flipped Virtual Conference. Participants will gain a sustained learning experience with Dr. Art Costa, Dr. Bena Kallick, and educators all over the world all interested in the Habits of Mind.
