Edward G. Thompson Resigns as Director of Western Troy and Other Junior Exploration Companies


TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Jan. 2, 2014) - Western Troy Capital Resources (TSX VENTURE:WRY)(OTCQX:WTCRF) (Western Troy or the Company) announced today that Edward G. Thompson has decided to resign from all of his junior exploration company directorships, including Western Troy, as of January 1, 2014.

Mr. Thompson has been a director of Western Troy since 1996. Mr. Thompson is a geological engineer with over 50 years of experience in mineral exploration and junior mining company management. He received his Engineering Geology degree and Master's Degree in Economic Geology from the University of Toronto. He served as Chairman of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada from 1977 to 1979 and still chairs the Awards Committee. He is Treasurer and a Director of the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame and a Director of and fund raiser for Mining Matters.
