April 26, 2016 07:00 ET 3rd Annual Auto Parts Swap Meet and Car Show -- This Weekend

WINDSOR, CT--(Marketwired - April 26, 2016) - As a leading retailer of European auto parts online,® is hosting their third annual Swap Meet and Car Show at their company headquarters this Sunday, May 1st, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free to attend and is held at 800 Marshall Phelps Road, Windsor, CT.® expects the event to attract dozens of vendors selling spare parts, 500 show cars and over 2,000 people for a day of food, music, prizes and automobile-related fun. The European brands of cars and parts include Mercedes Benz, BMW, Audi, VW, Volvo and a lot more.®'s Swap Meet and Car Show started as a modest event in 2014. Rain threatened an already cold New England day in late April, but 200 brave enthusiasts gathered to buy and sell old parts, eat burgers and hot dogs, and look at the dozens of cars people brought to the show. According to® President and CEO Matt Moran, past responses from attendees were overwhelmingly positive, and he had anticipated that with a little more promotion and some good weather, 2015 could be even better. His prediction proved to be correct. Nearly 2,000 people and hundreds of cars flocked to the 2015 Auto Parts Swap Meet and Car Show, making last year's event successful beyond Moran's expectations.

2016 is shaping up to be even bigger and better.® will be giving away $15 website credits to anyone who wants one, as well as thousands of dollars in gift cards ranging from $25 to $500, and Bizol oil changes. Everyone who attends will be automatically entered to win. The winners will be announced at the show and on social media thanks to Flosser Lighting.® is also expanding the car show portion of the event to include four winners as voted on by attendees: Meanest Tuner (the best performance oriented car), Cleanest Classic (the car made before 1994 in the best condition), Diamond in the Rough (the car that may not be the shiniest, but is special nonetheless), and People's Choice (the crowd favorite). Each winner will receive a $100 gift card for parts on® courtesy of the worldwide genuine SAAB parts supplier ORIO. It's free to enter and everyone is encouraged to do so.

There will also be three times as much food for 2016 in the form of local favorite food trucks. Uncle Benny's Kitchen, Chompers and Poutine Gourmet will all have their best food ready for our guests.®'s concession area is sponsored by German auto parts giant Bosch and the mighty German auto parts conglomerate Schaeffler, which encapsulates the OEM parts brands INA, LUK, FAG, and Ruville.

Since bigger & better is the theme of the 2016 Auto Parts Swap Meet and Car Show,® will have three bands take the stage thanks to the sponsorship of febi bilstein and CRP, which owns Continental, Pentosin, Rein, Ajusa, and AIE. The Scattered will get the ball rolling and will play a variety of contemporary and classic rock covers; Polar Planet, an opener for last year's 104 Fest, takes the stage at lunch; followed by 2015-crowd favorite Mission Transmission, with their eclectic mix of pop punk and remixed covers.

With all the excitement, it's easy to forget that this is also an auto parts swap meet. Vendors can reserve their spot to sell parts for just $5. As Moran explains it, the vendors are a perfect complement to the wide variety of car parts® provides.® stocks new parts for European cars built after 1975. For those with classic cars or those just looking for a deal, used parts will be available from very knowledgeable vendors, which is an excellent alternative.
