eEye Digital Security Expands Leadership Team, Welcomes Back Technology Visionary Marc Maiffret to Tackle New Era of Security Vulnerabilities and Compliance Challenges

Company Plans to Triple in Size to Extend Lead in Eliminating Real-Time Security Threats

PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwire - July 13, 2010) -  eEye Digital Security, a leading provider of IT security vulnerability management solutions, today announced that it has expanded its leadership team. Kevin Hickey, who took the helm as CEO in December 2009 has since added five widely respected industry professionals to further enhance his management staff. In addition, Marc Maiffret, a co-founder of eEye Digital Security, has just returned to the company as chief technology officer. Maiffret is credited as a pioneer in vulnerability management, known for running eEye's top security research team for nearly 10 years, as well as famously discovering some of the very first critical Microsoft security vulnerabilities including the first Microsoft computer worm.

"The challenges of vulnerability management have grown more complex with constantly changing IT infrastructures, sophisticated cyber attacks and ongoing regulatory compliance requirements. Vulnerability management has entered a new era and just being able to identify vulnerabilities isn't enough. To provide effective security, you must be able to mitigate and protect against known, unknown and zero-day threats in real time," said Maiffret. "eEye is leading the charge in vulnerability management to help organizations assess, mitigate and protect critical assets and the data they hold. That's the next frontier for security and I'm excited to be a part of it."
