EFE Invests in Management to Expand Business in the Americas

World's Fourth Largest News Service Appoints Business Development and Marketing Manager to Increase Reach to the Hispanic Community

MIAMI, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 31, 2007 -- As part of the general restructuring aimed at strengthening, diversifying, and building-up EFE's products in the Americas, its General Director, Ms. Lola Álvarez, has appointed Mr. Rafael Carranza as Business Development and Marketing Manager responsible for the North American, Central American, Caribbean, and South American markets. He will report directly to the General Director and will be responsible for developing new products for the American market. Under his new functions, he will work closely with EFE's cyberdesk for the Americas based in Bogotá as well as with the regional Sales Management.

Mr. Carranza has been employed with EFE since the year 2000, when he joined the company as a Sales Executive working for its Mexican branch. Later he was a Business Coordinator for the Americas, responsible for opening new markets for EFE in the Western United States. In 2006 he was named EFE-News Assistant Sales Director for North America, based in Miami.

This appointment comes within the context of the business plan put in place by the agency last year in order to increase EFE's market share and income in the Americas.
