Ektron Developer Screencast Series Continues Into 2010

Chief Evangelist Bill Cava Provides Video Deep Dives into Ektron CMS

NASHUA, NH--(Marketwire - February 24, 2010) - Ektron Inc., a Web content management, social software and marketing optimization solution provider, announced that its popular developer series is continuing into 2010 with the release of a new screencast -- "Activity Streams" -- during the week of February 22nd

An essential part of the Ektron platform's micromessaging feature, activity streams provide an ongoing report on the activities of the people you designate to follow. Used for monitoring blog posts and forum comments as well as for expertise sharing and other day-to-day business tasks, activity streams are being rapidly adopted by forward-thinking enterprises for internal and external use.

Earlier screencasts in the series have included showcases on the Ektron platform's Framework API, which consolidated many of the software's core API functions and on the Extension Framework, extensibility architecture released in version 8.0 of the software.  "As Ektron's Chief Evangelist, one of my goals is to build a positive relationship between Ektron and the members of our developer community," notes Bill Cava. "One way we support the community is through our instructional videos on different areas of the Ektron CMS, complete with code samples and documentation. For example, the screencast on Activity Streams will start with the basics and move on to ways it can be extended to include custom notifications and activities such as those implemented at the NASDAQ community site."

"The developer screencast series is very helpful in guiding our development best practices," says Martin Karlsson, a developer with n-tara interactive. "These screencasts ensure we understand how to best use the Ektron platform, which results in accelerating our production planning and development cycle."

As well as offering the developer screencasts, the Ektron DevCenter includes a wide array of resources to assist developers and partners, such as community forums and blogs, tutorials, Knowledge Base resources, example code and support from Ektron experts. All developers are welcome to join the Ektron DevCenter. Membership is free. For additional information on the Ektron DevCenter, visit http://dev.ektron.com/. Visit Bill Cava's blog on the Ektron DevCenter for current and archived screencasts. "I encourage developers to provide feedback on the screencasts as well as letting me know what subjects they'd like to see me address in the future," says Cava. "You can reach me through my blog or via Twitter at http://twitter.com/billcava."
