WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - March 20, 2011) - El-Sayyid Idris Al-Senussi, the nephew of His Majesty King Idris of Libya and the son of His Highness El-Sayyid Abdallah Abed Al-Senussi, released a statement today in support of the military actions taken by coalition forces against Muammar el-Qaddafi.
"I wish to commend the French forces along with the other coalition nations participating in Operation Odyssey Dawn," stated, El-Sayyid Idris Al-Senussi. "I also wish to commend the Arab League for their historic resolution condemning Muammar el-Qaddafi and calling for a no fly zone in Libya that led to the UN adopting resolution 1973."
El-Sayyid Idris Al-Senussi continues, "On behalf of the Libyan people I remain committed to supporting the provisional government with the goal of achieving a free democracy with open and free elections for all of Libya. Just as the world must continue to speak together with one voice in condemning and acting against the violent and brutal assassinations of the peace-loving women, children and men of Libya by the oppressive former dictator Muammar el-Qaddafi, so too, must Libya stand as one in supporting the Libyan Transitional Council."
El-Sayyid Idris Al-Senussi also stated, "The military actions today by the international community are an important step towards transforming Libya and I am prepared to help assist Libya, as all citizens and ex-patriots should, in supporting our Transitional Council through this period. I believe that the world community must have continual intervention with the support and consent of the Libyan Transitional Council to ensure the safety of the women, children and men of Libya who are seeking freedom, democracy and basic human rights accorded to all citizens of a civilized world. After decades of oppression, the Libyan people cry out to the world to champion their rally for freedom and democracy."

His Highness El-Sayyid Idris Abdullah Al-Senussi is the nephew of His Majesty King Idris of Libya and the son of His Highness El-Sayyid Abdallah Abed Al-Senussi.
