Elastica Appoints VP of Worldwide Field Operations and Veteran CFO to Extend Cloud Access Security Brokers Market Leadership

Former Top Executives From Qualys and HEAT Software Join Elastica to Help Expand SaaS Security and the Company's Global Operations

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 8, 2015) - Elastica (www.elastica.net), the leader in Data Science Powered™ Cloud Application Security, today announced the appointments of John Wilson as vice president of worldwide field operations and Kevin Thompson as chief financial officer.

Previously, Wilson was executive vice president of worldwide sales and field operations at Qualys, where he helped grow the company from an early stage startup to a public company. In his new role at Elastica, he will drive worldwide sales, support and services. He is a graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point and a Gulf War veteran.

"Awareness of the Cloud Access Security Brokers market is growing, especially as enterprises increasingly understand that cloud collaboration and security must go hand-in-hand," said Wilson. "I'm excited to be joining Elastica at a point when companies are, more than ever, depending on cloud access security solutions to enable increased cloud collaboration and productivity."

Thompson brings over 25 years of experience as CFO for numerous startups and enterprise software companies within Silicon Valley such as Vitria Technology, WiChorus and Entrisphere, Inc. Prior to joining Elastica, Thompson was CFO of HEAT Software (formerly FrontRange), where he was responsible for overseeing the company's overall finance, accounting, legal, tax, HR and IT functions. At Elastica, Thompson will be leading initiatives to rapidly scale the company, while continuing the momentum with customer and partner activities. He holds an MBA in finance from Columbia and a BS in engineering from Stanford.

"Enterprises want to gain the cost and productivity benefits of cloud applications, but are struggling to secure the data that's stored and shared within them," said Thompson. "I chose to join Elastica because the company's fundamentally unique approach to security allows its impressive roster of enterprise customers to confidently utilize cloud applications."
