Electra Gold Ltd.: Research Program Initiated for Structured Environmentally Friendly Materials

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 30, 2009) - Electra Gold (TSX VENTURE:ELT) is please to announce the start of a research and development program into nano-structured environmentally-friendly materials as replacements for Portland Cement based concrete. Electra is participating in this research and development program with Vancouver based private research facilities and University personnel.

The focus of the research will be on reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the use of concrete using the amorphous silica products produced by Electra from the PEM100 deposit. Samples of chalky geyserite from the Apple Bay project have been submitted for characterization as to suitability to act as binders.
