Electric Insurance Company Adds Emergency Roadside Assistance Services

24/7/365 "Sign-and-Drive" Safety Throughout the United States and Canada Enabled by Cross Country Automotive Services

BEVERLY, MA--(Marketwire - December 20, 2010) - Beginning January 1, 2011, Electric Insurance Company® will add around-the-clock emergency roadside assistance services to its towing and labor coverage.

The new services, provided through Cross Country Automotive Services (Cross Country), a leading provider of driver and vehicle assistance services in North America, include towing, winching, lock-out assistance, flat tire changes, jump-starting dead batteries and emergency fuel delivery to drivers with towing and labor coverage.

Michael Mucher, Electric Insurance's vice president of Sales and Marketing, emphasized that providing emergency assistance underscores Electric Insurance's philosophy of providing exceptional customer care. "We're very pleased to be able to extend support to customers dealing with hazardous situations. Roadside assistance helps ensure customers are protected by both excellent coverage and on-site emergency services when they need it most," Mucher said.

Electric Insurance's new services include a very welcome convenience feature: most of the time, customers won't even have to submit a claim for reimbursement. Maureen Hegarty, vice president of Claims Services for Electric Insurance, has empathy for stranded customers. "They've already been through an unpleasant situation, and having to save related paperwork and submit a claim adds more complication," she said. "The new emergency roadside assistance service makes the whole situation so much easier on our customers. They just sign for the services and continue on their way."

"Cross Country's combination of outstanding customer service, customer relationship management, and technology innovation is the right solution for Electric Insurance's commitment to provide emergency assistance to its customers anytime, anywhere they need it," said Dave Ferrick, Cross Country's senior vice president and general manager of Insurance and Automotive Markets.

Electric Insurance customers who currently have towing and labor coverage on their auto policy will automatically receive access to the emergency roadside services. As the program rolls out over the next few weeks, Electric Insurance will mail program information and window decals with the toll-free emergency services hotline number to covered customers.
