Electrical Issues Force California Pumped Storage Unit Out of Service, an Industrial Info News Alert

SUGAR LAND, TX--(Marketwire - June 13, 2008) - Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--One of California's larger electrical production plants, the Helms Pumped Storage Power Station (Shaver Lake, California), was forced to bring a unit out of service this week. The 404-megawatt Unit 2, which has a hydropowered turbine/generator setup, was said to have had electrical issues within its control panel that forced it out of service sometime Monday, although the unit is slated to be returned to service by this weekend if repairs go as planned.
